My son, Bobby, is about 9 months old now. He's seems like he'll be walking any day now. He walks while holding onto things, can stand on his own for about 5 seconds before falling to his bottom, and does this weird crawl/walk thing where one foot is out but he uses the other knee to move. Because I felt that he'll be walking soon, I began 'window-shopping' online for a nice pair of slippers for him to practice in. Slippers are a good start to shoes, I think, because they're soft and not a huge leap from socks so that he can get acclimated.
The biggest problem that I've always had with 'baby booties' was that they seem to fall off at the slightest tug. That's why I'm thankful that I found BePe Baby
. BePe Baby
is a company started for the very reason of unreliable slippers(with sizes that range from newborn to 5 year olds!
). Here's a quote from their FAQ's:
"Our BePe Baby slippers were designed to stay on little feet without being too tight at the ankle. The top portion of the slipper is designed to come up high on the foot. To slip them on, simply pull open the elastic top of the heel section and slide over your child's foot. "
I can attest to that! When I got my pair to review, I put them on my little explorer. Bobby tugged on them a bit, but once he saw that they weren't coming off he just kept playing. He eventually forgot they were on at all!

Thankfully, all toddler and baby size slippers have a non-skid sole(except for 0-3 months, when it doesn't matter anyways... =). Being the mom of a VERY adventurous 9 month old, it's very reassuring. I got the size 4 toddler slippers for Bobby in 'Chocolate' brown. I measured his foot to be a bit bigger than 4.5 in. and didn't want to risk the size 3 being outgrown in a month. They fit slightly big(as expected), but due to the fact that they fit tighter around the ankle, they don't fall off. They're lined with fleece for a "warm comfy fit." All of their slippers are made in the USA(I love supporting USA made products/companies, you can read my post on this here
). Best of all, BePe Baby
stands behind their products. Their mission is complete customer satisfaction. Here's a quote about their return policy:
"If you ordered the incorrect size, you may easily exchange your item for the correct size by shipping it back to us. Your new order will ship upon receipt of your return.
We accept returns of all undamaged, unworn items within 30 days of receipt. Through the holiday season, we will accept returns within 60 days of purchases made by December 24."
That's more lenient than most stores. Overall, I'm very pleased with the slippers.
Bobby is happy too!
